What I do?

WHAT DOES A TRANSITION PARTNER DO?  (in 10 bullet points)

  1. My work as a Transition Partner is based on the methodology of coaching. If you are not familiar with it click to know more about What Coaching is?
  2. In a nutshell, coaching sessions are one-to-one structured conversations that will motivate you to reflect, have insights, practice and apply new learnings/behaviours in your workplace. The ultimate goal is to achieve improved performance and personal satisfaction.
  3. We will start by exploring your current situation (point A) and where you want to be by the end of our working cycle (point B).From point A to point B
  4. Through questions, observations, feedback and exercises you will reflect on your context, relationships, behaviours and identify the best actions/strategies to achieve your goals. 
  5. The work we do together is a based on a cycle of reflection and action. During the sessions we will explore your views, ideas, perception and identify the best actions to be taken as a result. In the intervals of the sessions you will practice/apply what you identified as the best strategies.
  6. We will keep reviewing the results of your actions, checking the progress, adjusting what needs to be adjusted and defining the next steps. Always having your final destination (point B) in mind.
  7. When relevant, I will share concepts and theories that may help you understand/shift the perception (of yourself or the context around you) so that you can make choices that are aligned to your goals. If it makes sense I will share my own experiences and personal stories too.
  8. Your goal may be something practical, like identifying ways to successfully implement an initiative/project, or it may be a shift in your perceptions and beliefs. Like, changing the ‘stories’ you are telling yourself, that prevent you from progressing towards your goals.
  9. A session with your Transition Partner will last for 60 to 90 minutes. The frequency of these sessions depend on a series of factors, but normally we should meet (personally or via Skype) every two weeks. The ‘standard’ cycle lasts for 3 to 6 sessions but can be extended if needed.
